Tax the Super Rich
Our Futures > Their Fortunes
Who we are
Tax the Super Rich is a new campaign, started in 2026. Before Christmas, a room of 80 people met to decide on our campaign for the coming year. We picked wealth taxes as a way to unite a vast majority of young people behind a shared idea that we need the rich to pay their fair share to build a better future for us all.
What’s the problem?
We are facing a crisis of inequality. 50 families own more wealth than the poorest half of the country combined! Extreme hoarded wealth is not just harmful for our communities, it is undermining democracy, holding back the economy and fueling climate breakdown. There is also a clear link between rising inequality and the support for far-right ideas.
Currently, the way our tax system works is balanced in favour of the super-rich, which fuels this inequality. It’s time to make the super rich pay their fair share, to build the future we all need.
How are we solving it?
We don’t know yet! We are still building our strategy. But we know it’s going to be great, when we launch later in the summer.
How can I help?
We meet fortnightly on Wednesdays, so sign up and come get involved. If we’re to make a difference on a big, national issue like this, we need hundreds of young people. We’re well on our way to that, but we need you too!
