We hold ourselves to the same standards of accountability and justice that we ask of others.
Modern Slavery Statement
The Advocacy Academy is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking across all areas of our work and supply chains. We take a zero-tolerance approach to exploitation, uphold fair and ethical working practices, and prioritise transparency, safeguarding, and accountability in all our relationships and operations.
EDI & Non-Discriminatory Policy
We are committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all staff and job applicants. We aim to create a working environment in which all individuals are able to make best use of their skills, free from discrimination or harassment, and in which all decisions are based on merit.
Complaint Policy
While we aim to get things right the first time, we recognise that sometimes we don’t. We welcome complaints as an opportunity to listen, learn, and make things right when they have gone wrong.
Living Wage Commitment
The Living Wage is an independently calculated hourly rate based on the real cost of living in the UK and updated annually. There are two rates: the London Living Wage for those based in Greater London, and the UK Living Wage for those based elsewhere. Current rates can be found on the Living Wage Foundation website.
The Advocacy Academy voluntarily chooses to pay the Living Wage, going beyond the government minimum to ensure staff are paid fairly for the work they do.
We believe paying the Living Wage:
- supports staff wellbeing and financial security;
- reflects our commitment to fair and ethical employment practices;
- contributes to staff retention and organisational stability; and
- aligns with our values of justice, dignity, and equity.
As a Living Wage employer, we are committed to:
- paying the Living Wage to all directly employed staff; and
- encouraging fair pay practices across our contractor and supplier relationships wherever possible.
Annual reports
The focus of our work is to build a culture of youth organising in the UK by developing young leaders, strengthening communities, and building collective power for change in the context of a polycrisis. Our annual report outlines our performance and financial review.
