The Liberation Centre is our home for youth organising in Brixton; a vibrant, accessible, and values-led community space.

We are open to all young people, organisers, artists, parents, dancers, workers, agitators, uncles, aunties, grandparents, neighbours, trouble-makers, and dreamers who believe that a better world is possible, and are doing their bit to make it happen.

Some of what we offer includes:

  • Safe spaces for young people to meet, gather, and work together to make change happen
  • Big and smaller meeting rooms
  • Event spaces for creative works, citizen assemblies, community events, campaign meetings, film screenings, community cook-outs and dinners
  • Spaces for therapy and healing work
  • A kitchen space for events, meetings, and activities – with a kettle, microwave, an airfryer, hot plates, a dishwasher, teas, coffees, cutlery, two fridges, mugs, plates, glasses
  • A youth organising archive, a community-driven resource library, and a gallery of youth organising work
  • A cosy film-screening facility in our auditorium

We operate based on a Solidarity Model – where no one is asked to pay more than they can afford to use the space.

The space is booked and busy with hundreds of users so please get in touch in a timely manner!

A presentation of the house rules is available here

And an easy read version of our house rules can be found here.

We want The Liberation Centre to be accessible to the communities, organisers, and movements it exists to serve. At the same time, it costs around £290 per day to operate and care for the space, so our pricing works on a solidarity scale designed to balance accessibility with sustainability.

If you’re a larger funded organisation or for-profit enterprise, we encourage you to book at our Solidarity Rates (Options 5 & 6). These rates help subsidise access for smaller grassroots and underfunded groups who may otherwise be unable to afford the space.

And ultimately, we don’t want to turn good friends, neighbours, co-conspirators, and comrades away. If none of the options below work for you, get in touch. We’re always open to a conversation.

£40 day rate (6+ hours)
£25 half day rate (3 hours)
